Good all-around player; good size, skating, puck control and offensive instincts. Uses body well, protects puck, battles in corners and in front of the net. Good puck possession along boards, he has a strong move to net, can find open ice, and has good hockey sense. Has played both wings and centre for the McCains this year; at centre he needs to work on faceoffs because he has poor form. He is more likely to be a power winger at next level; smart and creative with puck with good vision and passing game. Could use some work on first couple steps and improved foot speed.

Brandon MacLean 6'00 175 Regular Season Stats 28GP 16G 23A 39Pts 82PIM Playoff Stats: 8Gp 6G 4A 10Pts From our friends at HPO:"We were pretty hard on Brandon at the start of the season. There was hype aroud this kid with fantastic hands, and offensive zone smarts that was going to be a top end player in the draft. What we saw was a kid with great hands, an uncanny ability to stick the puck, a great wrist shot, and the slowest feet we had ever seen. My, what a couple months can change! He still does not have the "Rico Fata" speed, bu this skating strenth has come very far. He has more bounce to his first step, so he is much more effective in transition. He still does not pivot that well, but our concerns in this respect are much lesser now, then in November, just because we seen so much improvemene down the stretch. He missed a lot of games due to injury, but he should be a very good Q player."
