This just shows how badly he was held back in PEI by the inept management of Savard.

Congratulations to Vigneault on a good seaon and his award, he deserves it. This just shows how badly he was held back in PEI by the inept management of Savard. How was he held back? When Vigneault and Savard made their last contract, there was a clause that allowed Vigneault to pursue a pro coaching job, which he did. If Savard was wanting to hold him back, why agree to something like that in a contract? Speaking of holding back, when Flynn signed on to coach the Wildcats, it was rumored that there is something in his contract that prevents him from pursuing/accepting a pro/NHL coaching job. If there is, it is understandable that Irving would want something like that in place after losing coaches 2 years in a row to the NHL, but why would you say something like that when possibly your own team does that exact same thing?

Maybe they should give the award then to the person responsible for trading the piece of garbage(Bert) for Roberto. Has to be easily one of the most lopsided trades in NHL history

What I'm talking about is the poor job done by Savard in aquiring talent didn't allow Vigneault to show his coaching skills. Savard has improved over the last two years ... but when Vigneault was there it was one bad decision after another. Danny Flynn didn't want an out clause ... he left the NHL voluntarily because he wanted to coach in Canada and live in the Maritimes where his wife is a business professional. You don't hire a high end coach without an out clause ... if Flynn wanted one he'd have it.
