WTF is going on here anyways... 135.1/litre? How bad can this get? Are we going to see $2/litre gas soon or what?

At this rate, during the cold winter I can see hit hitting that high....Gov't better do something about this and soon....my paycheques aren't getting any bigger to account for all these damn increases in the cost of living

I have to start looking for a new job...I drive my own car at work and although I am compensated for my car, my mileage cheques arent rising as quickly as gas prices are...

It's not so much the gas for me... I live close to work and drive a car that is easy on gas but it's the furnace oil that's killer for me!!! It went up another 9 cents on top of this mornings 3.5 cents!
From cbc.ca:
Other gas prices around the world: Greece: about $1.35 Cdn a litre France: about $1.88 Cdn a litre Britain: about $2 Cdn a litre The Netherlands: about $2.19 Cdn a litre
It's going to $2/litre imo... I will be shocked if it doesn't.
Wait until Maritime Electric jumps on the bandwagon... then we're in for a rough ride.

Some companies should be a bit more flexible with employees now on car pooling, since they aren't making anymore money to get back and forth to work.
I also think it's time the city of Ch'town gets a few more buses going, I for one would leave a half hour or hour earlier in the morning to take a bus, right now it would be cheaper.

143.9/litre in Halifax... I would imagine it'll be up there on PEI within a day or 2.
I see Pat Binns offered some advise on how to conserve gas consumption... " Keep your car’s engine serviced – especially check your oxygen sensor, air filters and thermostat. Drive sensibly – aggressive driving can increase fuel consumption. Drive the speed limit – for every 10 km over 90 kph, fuel consumption increases by 10%. Remove excess weight – each extra 100 kgs in your trunk could cost you 4% in fuel. Check tire pressure – one under-inflated tire could cost 4% in fuel economy. Drive 10% less – make a personal decision to drive less to save fuel. Use air conditioning sparingly – use your AC on the highway and roll your windows down when urban driving. Don’t idle – ten seconds of idling can cost you more in fuel than turning your engine off. Idling for 10 minutes can cost you from one to four tenths of a litre in wasted fuel. Shorten your vehicle warm up times – the best way to warm up a vehicle is to drive it. With computer controlled, fuel injected engines you only need 30 seconds of warm up times on winter days."
On a lighter note I wonder what damaging information would be on Ghiz's 2 laptops... this could get interesting!

It is absolutely insane.. the only thing we can do is drive less, wear more clothing this winter and bitch and moan cuz the prices ain't coming down anytime soon
the threats of Wilson i believe is the reason for the dramatic increase yesterday ... course consumers going into panic mode everytime a gas increase is coming doesn't really help matters either
transit system rf44? what transit system?

Sorry, I should have clarified a bit better....the transit system that is SUPPOSE to be coming!!! 4 buses to start off aren't going to be very good, better then the 0 we have now, but if they are to cater to seniors and handicap, the people who actually drive everyday aren't gonig to benefit much from it.
Pat Binns doesn't need to worry about any of the above as nothing comes out of his pocket to drive his car, service it, and he probably has a garage so it's never really cold....but thanks for the advice Pat.

Any word on if the North American boycott yesterday did anything. it was in a forward I go in my email. I know I didn't purchase gas in the last three days even thought I needed it. Anyone else do the same.

That email was actually just a virus in itself...Any mass email you get that asks you to forward it to other people is just a way for people to track email addresses so they can spam the shit out of ya...plus these emails get bigger and bigger and clog email systems across the nation... whether it's gas price boycott or telling you Bill Gates will give you free money they are all Bullshit......Best thing to do is delete these emails and do not forward them...

Any word on if the North American boycott yesterday did anything. it was in a forward I go in my email. I know I didn't purchase gas in the last three days even thought I needed it. Anyone else do the same. Well... yesterday morning (12am) the gas took a jump... then it was announced that at 4pm yesterday it would take an even larger jump. So like the drones we are we filled the gas station parking lots. I can't make any sense of that email that was going around to boycott the gas station for 1 day. All that means is that we fill er up the night before and the day after... therefore they get their money anyways. I like the idea of boycotting for 1 week rather than one day. There are companies that have to buy the gas to stay in business and then there are people with more money than brains that don't care how much gas is so I don't think a boycott on the scale we require is possible. In other words it doesn't matter what we do... nothing is going to stop the increases. For lack of a better word we are f*cked!

Boycotting gas could be difficult unless we walked everywhere for a week or didn't move out and I really don't think it would work anyhow, at some point, they would be getting the money.
