Just UNREAL!
Aerosmith was everything I expected and more......... was totally in another world during the two hours in which they rocked the face off of Charlottetown.
Who'd have thunk those guys are like 60? They were jumping around that stage like it was 1977, not 2007.
Concert experience of a lifetime, to date, and will be extremely difficult for anyone to top!

Starting from $149 and going up to $999!! For my $80 front row ticket, Im more then please!! Best concert I've seen, and im sure the best I ever will see! Wow..........

Interesting mix of reaction to this concert... there are the people who talk like Score and deer and say it was simply amazing.... and then there is the opposite... especially reading the guardian recap and the comments after, TONS of mixed opinions. I know people who came back and loved it... and others who said stuff like "ugh... standing for 8 hours in mud KILLED me"... its almost like it depended on the area you were watching from. I know the VIP section I guess had bad sightlines and were worse than regular areas lol...

= especially reading the guardian recap and the comments after, TONS of mixed opinions. I personally don't pay any attention to what gets said in those Guardian comments..........seems as though the same people go on their and post a lot of BS about everything. I loved the concert, and really will never forget it! The whole day was great, despite the rain............and when it rains as hard as it did, you're gonna get mud..........it's not Rocket Science.

I really enjoyed the concert, music-wise Cheap Trick and Aerosmith were one of the best one-two punch you could get. My only negative was, since it is a flat surface instead of on a slope, the stage should have been a bit higher to give a better view to people who were further back especially shorter people. Steven Tyler, Joe Perry are monsters of rock.
As for the Guardian comments, you got the preachers who went there expecting the Holy Mary Choir Boys Band with fans that behaved like the Russian crowd in Rocky IV they were basically looking to be disappointed. Sure, there are some fans who go overboard but you have to expect it. It's a rock concert, not Dora the Explorer.
In my books, one of the best concerts I've been to. It's up there with the Stones in Moncton, but still behind AC/DC at the ACC.

No need to comment on quailty, as I know they are poor......visual and audio.....but they are what they are.....a memory of that fantastic night!
Cheap Trick
Aerosmith Entering the Stage
Aerosmith Tyler tossing his shades 3 ft to the left of me.
Aerosmith

Terrible experience for me, I went to watch a concert and drink beer and after buying beer tickets and waiting in line for 1.5hrs for a beer left empty handed and no refunds for purchased beer tickets. Fucking brutily organized... I won't be licking carvers boots anytime soon.
I found the Guardian article to be not critical enough. Sure Aerosmith put on a good show but seeing as the screen was 40' behind them it was hard to see anything unless you were up front or at least centre stage.
Just another open air concert, long lineups for bathrooms, no toilet paper, piss everywhere, extreme beer lineups and laid off like someone from grade 1 designed it. That wasn't worth the paper the ticket was printed on imo.
I'd prefer to travel to travel to TO and be able to walk to get a beer and be back within the same song.

With 30,000+ there, what was expected? Unreal experience for me. One I probably won't live again. I personally didn't go anywhere near the beer tent, potties or any of the food vendors. Got my spot, and stood their for the entire day........perhaps why my experience was better then yours. Best $80 I ever spent.......and what a deal it was. Look around their other tour dates and those prices......$80 was a BARGAIN for Aerosmith alone.

I know the VIP section I guess had bad sightlines and were worse than regular areas lol... Reviews of the event itself (venue, layout, accessibility of stuff, etc) were very mixed indeed.......... slanted towards the general negative actually. Personally I didn't care about any of that because (1) I didn't at all have high expectations for the actual event, knew the setup and such was going to be mediocre at best and prepared myself for a bit of a shitshow (2) Maybe I'm in the minority on this one, and maybe this is a crazy concept to some, but as long as Aerosmith put on a kickass show I didn't honestly give a shit about a single other thing. I was there to see Aerosmith, not to try not to get muddy......... lol. As for reviews of Aerosmith's actual performance, I haven't heard any that were very negative, and a good 90% I've heard have been overwhelmingly positive. Most people I talked to were pretty much as blown away by them as Score and I were. So I think it's pretty safe to say......... unbelievable performance by Aerosmith............ but a pretty mediocre venue/layout/setup. And the VIP thing was an absolute disaster.......... heard scores of people really pissed off about that, including my parents who were very impressed by Aerosmith but were infuriated by how badly they got ripped off for their 500 bucks on VIPs. As much as I agree (even though I personally didn't care) that the event itself had a lot of holes in it........ some of the complaints just made me laugh. People complaining about it being a "muddy cesspool"? It was an outdoor concert and it rained; what did they expect? Complaints about drunk people? It's a rock concert attended by 30,000. On the topic of rain, I also found the CBC's article pretty funny/sad. They made it sound like it was a torrential downpour during Aerosmith when really all it was was a light sprinkle that actually added to the atmosphere IMO and cooled the crowd down. CBC said that "thousands" of people headed for the exits when the rain started. If that's true (which I really doubt), those are the "thousands" of biggest wimps I've ever heard tell of. ;D Anyhow I guess it really depended not only on your location but on your expectations going in....... mine were fairly low for the actual event and very high for Aerosmith.......... and that's pretty much the way it turned out. Had a great time throughout the day walking around the grounds seeing who and what I could see, enjoyed 54/40, very much enjoyed Cheap Trick (poor guys were SADLY underappreciated by the crowd, who were too busy getting their last beers into them before settling in for Aerosmith), and then was in another world during Aerosmith. Great day on the whole despite the event's deficiencies.

With 30,000+ there, what was expected? Expected? A venue that could accomodate 30,000 + people would be a start. Set up so that 30,000 + people could function, what a concept eh? Charge more and sell less tickets so that the people that do buy can enjoy it. I've been to open air concerts... they don't have to be that bad, although most are. It's just great you had a good time but not everyone wants to stand in front of medicore bands for seven hours not moving in order to see a big act. I would have paid double for a better venue, $80 when it comes to a big band like Aerosmith is cheap but seems some of us got what we paid for...
