First episode of Rockstar Supernova aired tonight and I thought it was pretty good.
Formed by drummer Tommy Lee (Motley Crue) with Bass player Jason Newsted (Metallica) and guitarist Gilby Clarke (Guns N' Roses).
Two Canadiens in the competition, Lukas Rossi from Toronto and Jenny Galt from Vancouver.
Lukas Rossi was IMO one of the best on stage.

Starting to tune in to this... the music is very good.
Right now, the leader by a landslide should be Dilana. Great style and presence, husky voice... Nirvana and Johnny Cash tunes? She is the only person who I can't wait to see what she does next.

Anyone else still watching this show?
I do, and still enjoy it.
Like watching Lukas, Ryan, Storm and even Magni is getting pretty good. I know they like Dilana a lot....but she's not my cup of tea.....and WTF is with Zayra???

I know they like Dilana a lot....but she's not my cup of tea.....and WTF is with Zayra??? I do... although usually I hate these types of reality talent contests. They are finally making progress in cutting out the crap lol... good double elimination. I think some internet "vote for the worst"-type sites are keeping Zayra out of the bottom 3. They may have to break rules and just boot her anyway lol. I like Dilana (her last 2 songs were plain though), and Lukas (was the early obvious choice but Im not so sure now). Magni has grown on me, very professional, very serious about his music... may not have enough flair for SN. I love Storm, not much chance to win, but very passionate on stage, HOT and a good voice. Ryan and Toby fall in the "Meh" category for me. Ryan is too angry and boring, and Toby is too "Frat Boy Surfer Dude", although his last song was his best. Patrice is talented, good voice, but also has no star quality.

Ryan go the boot last night, which was a surprise to me.
Thought he had turned it on the last couple weeks and was predictiing him to be in the final 3 maybe.
Really liked Toby singing Billy Idols "Rebel Yell"....love that song.. ;D

Was not happy to read that Ryan got the boot, I enjoyed his performances of late and really thought it was time for Storm to go home. Was also a bit surprised to see Dilana in the bottom three.....Maybe the fans reacted to how the show portrayed her....
Lucas, Dilana, and Magni in the final three I think.....But if its Lucas, Dilana, and Toby that is ok too.....Think Lucas might take it all.....
I also was predicting Ryan to be in the top three as well Score....Too bad for him....I actually quite liked the original song he sang a few weeks ago...Lucky for Storm I do think!

Was surprised to see RYan go too but after hearing his "farewell" salute I'm sure the band is not sad to see him go
Storm is staying for a bit longer for the eye candy factor
Read online Lukas is the choice barring some terrible performance between now and the end based on the fact he fits into the type of performer the boys would get along well with on tour
Dilana is a great singer but her "attitude" stinks

I think if you sat down and hung out with her she would be a caring, honest person. She made bad comments, but I dont think the band cared...HOWEVER the following breakdown is certainly worrysome. Crumbling over negative feedback sent her spiralling down and THAT is what probably sealed her fate in this IMO. She started out awesome, seemed caring, everyone loved her (fans, housemates, band) and week after week she was put on a pedastol. Eventually she started buying into the hype and seem to say "hey, no sense backing down from it, go with it and show some confidence as it IS a competition"... but in trying to be cocky/confident she stepped on some toes and didnt have the emotional strength to deal with the backlash. I love her originality and voice, but she showed her weakness now. Pressure. She will be final 3 though... with Lukas likely winning it, and Magni/Toby with an outside shot. Toby fits the cornball songs they make, but Lukas can change the song with his style/writing to make it decent IMO, even if his singing stamina is questionable.

I saw nothing wrong with Ryan's farewell speech. I think he had every right to say that, given that there's no way he should have been cut over Storm, and that the band didn't even give him on solid reason as to why he was leaving and not the other ones. I as a fan would like to know why they cut Ryan, he was doing great. I guess maybe they saw him more as a solo artist or someone that couldn't really be front man of their band, but is a good singer none the less. Who knows but I really liked what he said at the end. Why act like a wounded dog because Tommy Lee's band doesn't want you. Go out like a hero, and say you'll see them on the charts. Good work.

never said there was anything wrong with it.. merely that it would probably affirm in their minds cutting him was the right move since he's out for himself and not the band per se
and he won't be on the charts... does anyone even remember the people who didn't make the final 3 last year?
and what is Marty Casey and Sweet Suzie MacNeill up to these days? ain't rockin no charts thats fer sure

Oh I never said he'd make the charts, I said kudos for acting like you would, and not going down without at least a quip here and there. I'd still like to know what the reasoning is behind it tho. Did they think he was too solo? Didn't like his style? What is it cause the guy was awesome

Did they think he was too solo? Didn't like his style? Yes and Yes. He did appear to be uncomfortable rocking out and couldnt smile during a performance if his life depended on it. He is way too intense to bounce around in front of the 1970's arena rock music that Supernova seem happy to play.
