Pens vs. Sens should be a dandy. That's the series I'm most interested in. If Fleury can hold up his end of the bargain (I know the CB fans know all about his playoff exploits.... ) then the Penguins should win. Both teams have a lot of firepower, but the Sens big guns have everything to prove and all the pressure, the Pens kids are going to have a lot of fun. Let's go Crosbaby!

Sens have more depth than Pittsburgh.. people forget about guys like Fisher, Vermette, Neil, and Comrie
I think that series is gonna be a thing of beauty but I think the Sens will triumph.. Ottawa also has had Crosby's number this year actually.. Mike Fisher is probably the best unknown player in the NHL

I think the Pens are nearly as deep up front as the Sens are. Guys like Christensen, Ouellet, Ruutu are just as unheralded as the guys you mentioned from the Sens. They could do a lot of damage. I can almost guarantee that Sens fans are going to HATE Ruutu by the end of the series.
The big advantage for the Sens would appear to be on defence and they also have a bit of an advantage in goal. That definetly should make the difference in the series, but forgive me for not putting much faith in the Senators playoff aspirations, they've never proved anything.
That's why I think the pressure will be the biggest factor, with the Sens feeling it big time and the Pens a lot less. Pens in 6.
It should be a dandy series either way.

I'll give you Christenson but Oullette i can almost guarantee will be a non factor and Ruutuu well everyone hates him but I'd take a Chris Neil over him anyday of the week
won't matter tho because guys like Ruutuu will barely see the ice
Colby Armstrong and Max Talbot will be the guys who can get under the Sens skin and actually make a legit difference in the outcome of a game not Jerko Rutard

Ruutu will get a bunch of ice time I would say. He got 3rd line minutes all year and he'll get that in the playoffs too. He's an agitator who will get the other team off of their game. Those kinds of players are important in the playoffs. But I agree, I'd take Neil over him without hesitation.
Ouellet was playing on Crosby's line at the end of the year and for that alone he should be a factor. 19 goals, 11 PPG and 48 points in 73 games is nothing to sniff at. After Crosby, Malkin and Recchi he was their 4th leading point getter among forwards. If he can get over the first playoff jitters he will be a factor.
Armstrong and Talbot will definetly be factors as well.

sorry ninja tootle Ruutuu started out third line he is now 4th line and used VERY sparingly he wont have an impact at all Oullette will score the occasional PPG but his game is not solid.... and Therrien never keeps his top 3 lines in tact.. I don't really care what the stats say I know what I know.... Oullette is a leech.. but feel free to pick him in your hockey pool .. oh wait you chickened out i forgot

Haha, I'll take your word for it Pill. I just hope Ouellet goes out and scores 6 or 7 goals this series, a couple of game winners, and then I can say I told you so. And I would pick him in the pool, if I was going and if he was worth the pick that I used on him. And I bet you would too...

ninja boy get off the Pens bandwagon quick.. you're bad luck to every team you cheer for come playoff time
also Ruutuu has been as expected a total non factor

Haha, it seems to be that way doesn't it? I'll just have to wait and see who wins the Cup, then I'll jump on their bandwagon and say that's who I was cheering for the whole time.
And yep, Ruutu was a non-factor. The Pens are basically overmatched in the series.
The team has the horses to be a dynasty in the very near future though. So I'm sure the bandwagon will be looking mighty nice soon enough.

Even though I mostly watched the Devils this season, I watched the Pens alot also. They may not be a contender this year but they should be very soon if their players develop like they should and they are able to get a bit more depth. Staal has been a pleasant surprise for them and there is still Letang who almost made the team this year. Before the season started not many people thought these 2 players would have made it or were close to making it. It is going to be interesting to watch this team grow.
