Bertuzzi's agent Pat Morris and an NHL spokesman would not confirm the report, but did suggest that Bertuzzi will soon have his long-awaited hearing.
"There are all kinds of things up in the air with respect to this and I don't want to confirm a date because they (NHL) are trying to work it out," Morris told the Vancouver Province.
"We knew we were going to get a date but it was not approximate enough to help Todd or Team Canada at the world championship. So it will move forward when it moves forward."
Bertuzzi was suspended indefinitely following his on-ice mugging of Colorado Avalanche forward Steve Moore on March 8, 2004. The suspension caused Bertuzzi to miss the playoffs, and made him ineligible to play in Europe this season during the NHL lockout.
Bertuzzi was under consideration for a spot on Canada's World Championship team, but eventually pulled out when it became apparent that he would not have the suspension lifted before training camp. The International Ice Hockey Federation had stated that it would honour the NHL suspension.
"Todd needed time to get ready," Team Canada GM Steve Tambellini said. "The timeline of him getting reinstated did not meet with the timeline of us getting our team ready. I know he would have liked to have been part of this but it's just not going to work."

plus whos to say moores injuries didn't come from moores teamates jumping on him trying to get bertuzzi
all i have to say is steve have fun playing theo in the allan cup in a few years, you weren't a nhl regular anyways

Steve Moore is a hockey player that received career ending injuries by Bertuzzi. What kind of hockey player is Todd Bertuzzi? You could be right about his injuries made worse when everyone fell on him, but Bertuzzi shouldn't have done what he did. I wonder if this will have an impact on how Bertuzzi plays from now on. I'm sure he will tone it down but his name will always be associated with the ugly incident.

hey moore this is what you get for cheap shotting a star(marcus nasland), sorry dude
does anyone know if the career ending injury orrured from the punch alone or from 5+ guys on top of him
bertuzzi has missed 20 games and a year(luckly there was a lockout) sufficient enough i think
bertuzzi got the loudest cheer i believe from the fans in hamilton in the charity game. I can't see that being different in all the other nhl markets in canada when and if he gets reinstated, i am not sure how he would be recieved in the u.s. makets but it won't be as loud as the canadians. the only place where bertuzzi will get booed is in minnisota(where he already gets booed) and denver, colorado.

Unfortunately tellulikeitis is right.. Moore is a joke.... I felt bad for him but the way he handled things afterwards I feel nothing for him but the impression he is out to cash in on his injuries. I don't at all condone what Bertuzzi did... but it's time to reinstate him.. he has suffered enough.
p.s. Tell Kevin this is what can happen if he makes a career out of cheap shotting people
pps Marcus Naslund is a pussy who should be able to take a hit .
ppps Granato is an idiot who has gotten off relatively scotfree when he is also very much responsible for what happened to Moore.. if Moore wants to sue everyone from the Canucks organization he should in fact sue Granato as well
