Where do you all see Lalfeur going on June 22?
Lafleur was the 3rd NA goaltender ranked by CSS and is projected to go in the first few rounds.
Bill Metzer of hockeybuzz.com gives some insight on some tenders available for this years NHL draft......here is his little bit on Rocket goaltender, Lafleur.
Antoine Lafleur P.E.I. (QMJHL)
6-4, 190
Ranked third on the Central Scouting final North American goalie rankings, Lafleur is not ranked among the ISS top five. McKeen's has him sixth among goalies.
I have not seen him play, but the scouting reports out there usually go in one of two directions:
1) He's got the kind of aggressiveness and puck-handling potential that's hard to teach and he only needs experience to harness his abilities, or
2) He's all over the place positionally (despite being identified as as a butterfly goalie), needs works on his skating and creates his own monster handling the puck.
Without having seen him play, I can't form my own opinion, but most projections have him anywhere from a late second/ early third round pick to a player picked on the draft's second day.
Also, a bit from a Minnesota paper/website.
Could big Antoine Lafleur be Minnesota’s 1st round pick?
Height: 6′4.25″
Weight: 186lbs
Catches: Left
Stats: 70GP 27W-19L
2.97GAA
.909%SP
Talent Analysis: Lafleur is a big, athletic goaltender who put up solid numbers for an improved Prince Edward Island squad. At times Lafleur can literally take on the appearance of a wall between the pipes, as he earned defensive player of the week honors in the CHL back in November. Lafleur’s awards do not come without some criticism as well, as he was critisized for being caught out of position. It is hard not to like Lafleur’s natural size and athleticism, and even though he has to improve his consistancy there is a lot to like about this kid’s ability
