Not sure how creditable the source is but it appears that the Rocket have approached the city of Summerside for the possibility of playing some of their regular season games at the new wellness center

I can see them playing an exhibition game in the fall, but I think it would be kind of late to organize a regular season game for next season in Summerside. The season ticket packages have been distributed without it mentioning of a regular season game being played elsewhere than the CCC. Because if they did hold a regular season game in Summerside what happens to that game for the season ticket holders. Would that game be included in the season ticket package and if it is, how do they do the seating? If it's not included in the package I would think that they would tell people before they buy the package.

I agree Wingman I could certainly see Summerside being a great option for some Exhabition games but no way is there any more than that.

S'Side builds a rink, and rumors begin. The Rocket will NOT be playing any regular season games in S'Side........thats a guarantee. After seeing what Summerside drew for a crowd for the Junior A finals, it wouldn't surprise me if the opportunity arose that the owners of the Rocket decide to throw a game or 2 to the western part of the Island. After all they are the PEI Rocket, not the Charlottetown Rocket and they haven't exactly being doing all that great attendance wise the last 2 years Guarantee is a pretty strong word for some one who probably has no say in any decision made by the Rocket organization

As mentioned by others above, they won't sell passes with home games being played in different locations. They may think about playing a pre-season game in S'Side, to try to "hook" a couple more season tickets, but that would be about all.

I agree with the others, i can see them saying they will play a couple of exhibition games....but they cant sell season tickets to a rink in charlottetown then turn around and say well 1-2 games out of those season tickets are held in another rink. You buy season tickets because it is YOUR seat, u dont expect that you have to go to another rink and sit somewhere totally different

I imagine that the organization would probably consider reimbursing those people that don't want to make the trip for those games in Question

I No team will do that if they want to stay in business. A team moves it's games to another rink if some emergency situation happens. Teams won't do that to be nice to the citizens of some other city.

This has been discussed before. It won't happen. Why?:
1) Season Ticket Holders will not buy if they have to travel all over the island. They are HOME games. No need for a road trip. This isn't the Abbies.
2) The Rocket will not want to play a home game in a building they are unfamiliar with. They know the bounces and layout of the CC.
3) Money. Why waste gas, and bus fees for the team to play a game in S'Side?
4) Lack of concessions. They have one canteen that is half the size of the main canteen at the CC. It only has room for 2 people to work and that just won't cut it.
5) Senior citizens. At the entrance there is a large flight of stairs. Seniors that attend in Charlottetown will be discouraged by this because there is no elevator.
6) Lines on ice. The correct lines aren't on the ice for Q regulations. Line location and lack of trapezoid behind net.
7) There are probable a few other Q regulations not met.
Put this to rest for once and for all...it wont happen.

Just to clarify the thread. The Rocket will indeed be playing two games in Summerside this year. Reason is simple. The Fogdevils will not have ice for the pre season and will be playing about seven of their exhibition games on the road. Even though it will be on the Island, they are in fact Fogdevil home games.
As the thread states, Rumour for all the rest and not even agood one.
