The Whalers (0-2) can't afford another loss or they'll be eliminated from the CHL's championship tournament.
They meet the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Lewiston Maineiacs (1-1) tonight at 9PM on Sportsnet.
A Whalers win over the Maineiacs would result in a tiebreaking rematch Thursday to determine which club gets into Friday's semifinal.
The Plymouth Whalers finished second overall in the OHL with 103 points during the regular season and battled their way through the OHL playoffs. The Whalers clinched the J. Ross Robertson Cup after defeating the Guelph Storm in four consecutive games in the first round, a five-game series win over the Kitchener Rangers in round two, a five-game win over the London Knights in round three and a six-game win over the Sudbury Wolves qualifying the Whalers for the 2007 MasterCard Memorial Cup.
Whalers to watch James Neal led all Whalers in playoff scoring with 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points in 20 games. Evan Brohey scored nine goals and 14 assists for 23 points while Dan Collins finished with nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points.
Steve Ward scored one goal and 19 assists for 20 points leading the defensive corps for the Whalers. Rookie goaltender Michal Neuvirth showed he was playoff worthy posting a 2.45 goals against average and a .932 save percentage

The Plymouth Whalers avoided elimination and forced a tiebreaker game at the Memorial Cup with a 2-1 overtime win over the Lewiston Maineiacs on Tuesday.
Andrew Fournier scored the winner at 4:19 of extra time.
Simon Courcelles gave Lewiston a 1-0 lead with less than six minutes to go, but Evan Brophey scored short-handed for Plymouth at 18:48 to send the game into overtime.
Lewiston goaltender Jonathan Bernier, a Los Angeles Kings prospect, stopped 37 of 39 shots, while Plymouth counterpart Michal Neuvirth, a Washington Capitals draft pick, turned away 26 of 27.
The host Vancouver Giants (2-0) meet the Medicine Hat Tigers (1-1) on Wednesday in a rematch of the Western Hockey League championship series.
There will be a tiebreaker Thursday with a spot in Friday's semifinal on the line, and the game between Vancouver and Medicine Hat will have a bearing on who is in it.
If the Giants win, they will advance to Sunday's final with a 3-0 record. Medicine Hat and Plymouth would meet in the tiebreaker, with Lewiston automatically advancing to Friday's semifinal.
A Medicine Hat win would give the Tigers and Giants 2-1 records, but Medicine Hat would make the final based on head-to-head play. The Giants would be in the semifinal, with Plymouth and Lewiston facing off in the tiebreaker.
